WELCOME TO PORT ALBERTA
Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway are heavy haul, Class 1 railways, moving things like coal, lumber, grain and many other goods. Since 1880's the railways have been instrumental to access North American markets, including coastal marine ports for a global market reach.
HOW RAIL CONNECTS!
Albertan's enjoy a comparatively higher standard of living than most. Many like to travel, ski and hike the Rocky Mountains, dine in some of North America's best restaurants...the list is endless as to what you can do living in this great province.
ALBERTAN'S BUILD DREAMS!
This is a picture of grain being loaded at the Port Metro Vancouver. Wheat, barley, canola and flax are brought into export position by rail.
We export more than just raw materials - goods of all kinds! And we are also able to receive imported goods from some of the largest container vessels afloat as they drop off containers with materials for direct consumption or for further processing - part of the complex global supply chain network.
SEE HOW WE CONNECT TO MARINE PORTS!
Alberta crude oil is moved to refineries and eventually made into things like surf boards, jet fuel, parts for cars and iPads, skateboard wheels and even heart valves!
SEE HOW WE MOVE ALBERTA ENERGY!
Alberta has a great network of roads for all kinds of cargo transport, big and small. This picture is and example of an expert and coordinated heavy-haul move to the Alberta Oil Sands in Fort McMurray. We move quickly and expediently all kinds of cargo throughout North America.
SEE HOW OUR ROADS CONNECT!
Nice things come in small packages. Alberta plays a big role to support industries, such as mining. The quality and brilliance of our Canadian diamonds, for example, are sought after the world over and we can get them across the globe by air.
We can also deliver nice things in big packages! We have the capacity to fly over-sized, heavy cargo, too.
